Firefilms

Firefilms was set up in 2001 and pioneered the development of the use of film in qualitative research. Film has an enormous amount to bring to the work that we do both as a research tool and as a presentation medium. Video cameras (for better or worse) are now everywhere and carried by many people at all times. This grants us unprecedented access to people’s real worlds – something that was previously difficult, time consuming and sometimes flawed in principle too. This access is where real insight can be found by brands that are prepared to look.
At the other end of the equation, Firefilms is a market leader in the production of high quality research films – from fly-on-the-wall footage to reconstructed research and project ‘documentary’ pieces that that may soon signal the end of ‘Death by PowerPoint’ for those who feel that way. Firefilms combine marketing know how, research expertise, film making skill and a theoretical understanding of the construction of film narratives. They also continue to innovate and remain at the forefront of research thinking. This year they are Vlogging and Flipping – next year who knows?
